Prevalence of Epibiont Protozoan communities on Penaeus monodon (Fabricius) from the Hatchery off Visakhapatnam, East Coast of Andhra Pradesh, India

چکیده
The present study aimed to establish the information on protozoan diseases in Black tiger shrimp Penaeus monodon during the year 2012. Due to high levels of ciliate infestations can affect respiration, feeding, growth, survival and also irritation behaviour of larvae (zoea, mysis and post larvae) was observed. Protozoan diseases in P. monodon was global problem in hatcheries mainly affect the eggs and larval stages. In current study we found different variations of ciliary infections were observed throughout the year (2012), we also concentrated on some physical parameters like PH, Temperature ( to C), and salinity (ppt), variations of these parameters will affect the larval growth and survival rate in hatchery system.

High levels of genetic diversity in Penaeus monodon populations from the east coast of India
Quality production of the shrimp Penaeus monodon in hatchery operations depends heavily on the evaluation of genetic diversity and population structure of brood stocks. Mitochondrial DNA (mtDNA) sequences have been widely used to study genetic variability and relationships in many crustacean groups, and these same markers may be incorporated into evaluation studies of shrimp broods and populati...

متن کاملDetection of Laem-Singh virus in cultured Penaeus monodon shrimp from several sites in the Indo-Pacific region.
Laem-Singh virus (LSNV) is a positive-sense single-stranded RNA (ssRNA) virus that was recently identified in Penaeus monodon shrimp in Thailand displaying signs of slow growth syndrome. A total of 326 shrimp collected between 1998 and 2007 from countries in the Indo-Pacific region were tested by RT-PCR for evidence of LSNV infection. The samples comprised batches of whole postlarvae, and lymph...

Introduction: Occurrence of detectable amounts of viral antigen or viral particles in the blood of infected patients with Hepatitis B virus (HBV) is a significant characteristic of HBV infection. Detection of HBV antigen or its DNA among individuals of a community is a crucial factor to know the burden of HBV infection. Hepatitis B surface antigen (HBsAg) is a suitable marker of HBV infection b...
